Restauration - Home For Christmas
Restauration came home for Christmas!
After a historic voyage across the Atlantic.
The vessel still needs support to repair damage and prepare for the new season in 2026, as well as future voyages.
We have therefore launched a fundraising campaign to ensure that Restauration can continue to be a living symbol of courage, hope, and Norwegian history.
Thank you for contributing – every gift, large or small, makes a big difference!
(Spleis is a Norwegian platform for fundraising campaigns - see info about donation payment from abroad here.)
Follow the vessel
We share the latest news from the Restauration vessel with photos, text and videos straight from the Atlantic. (Also on the return voyage.)
Come aboard and get a glimpse into life at sea.
News / activities
We relived the emigration to America
On July 4, 1825, the first Norwegian emigrants set sail from Stavanger to North America aboard the sailing ship Restauration.
200 years later, the Restauration Friends Association followed in their wake. On the same dates, we departed and arrived with Restauration on the same voyage from Stavanger to New York City — to honor their courage and share the story of those who built a bridge between Norway and North America.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in commemorating one of Norway’s greatest adventures.
Support us and our volunteer work.

Unique Memories of Restauration
Take the opportunity to get a unique souvenir from Restauration — and at the same time support the association’s work in sharing this history with new generations and preserving the ship.
