COURAGE is the main theme of ONS 2026 – the willingness to challenge the established order, navigate uncertainty, and act when the outcome is not guaranteed.

Restauration is a powerful historical example of exactly this. When 52 people set sail from Stavanger in 1825, they left behind their homes, families, and everything familiar for a future they knew very little about. They had no guarantee that the journey would succeed—only the belief that a different future was possible.

Courage is not about knowing that everything will turn out well. It is about daring to set sail when you don't know.

201 years later, Stavanger and the energy industry once again face an unknown horizon. The challenges are different, but the question remains the same:
Do we have the courage to leave the familiar behind and create something new?

Every great transformation begins with someone who dares to set sail.
