Grant from the Regional Cultural Fund

Grant from Rogaland County Council – Regional Cultural Fund 2026

Supporting the story of Norwegian emigration

The Restauration Friends Association thanks Rogaland County Council for a grant of NOK 100,000 to support the communication of the history of the vessel Restauration and Norwegian emigration.
The grant is an important recognition of the extensive volunteer effort behind this work, and of the significance this part of our cultural heritage holds—both locally and nationally.
The funding makes it possible to open the vessel to the public in 2026 and offer engaging, first-hand experiences of our shared history.

Sailing Season 2026

Restauration is a national symbol of the organized emigration from Norway that began in 1825. Through voyages, open ship events, and hands-on interpretation, this history is made accessible to all.
Planned ports of call include Egersund, Stavanger (including Constitution Day, May 17, and open ship periods), Tananger, events such as Tall Ships and ONS+, as well as Farsund, Sandnes, Skjoldastraumen, and Skudeneshavn.
