The home port of the emigrant ship Restauration is Finnesand quay on Mosterøy, near Utstein Kloster Hotel and the historic Utstein Monastery.
Address: Mosterøyveien 661, 4156 Mosterøy – which is part of Stavanger municipality.
This is an area rich in national history.
Utstein Monastery is Norway’s only preserved medieval monastery, and it was the royal farm of Harald Hårfagre (Fairhair), who is considered the first king of all Norway after uniting the country following the Battle of Hafrsfjord.
There are several archaeological finds from the Viking Age in the area.

Previous home ports for Restauration since its launch in 2010 have included Judaberg on Finnøy (where it was built), Natvigs Minde on Hundvåg in Stavanger, and Åmøy Harbor on Vestre Åmøy.
Emigrant Exhibit

At the home port of Restauration, at Finnesand quay on Mosterøy near Utstein Kloster Hotel in Norway there is an emigrant exhibit in one of the hotel’s conference rooms.Together with the ship Restauration, it forms an emigrant center.
The exhibit is usually accessible when the conference room is not in use by Utstein Kloster Hotel guests. Contact the hotel for information.
The emigrant room was officially opened on Leif Erikson Day, October 9, 2021.
